2018 0.7841oz Triangular Silver LAND-SEA-AIR Proof Coin - Mintage: 10,000

Honour the service and sacrifice of Australia’s defence personnel with the 2018 Land, Sea and Air Triangular Coloured Silver Proof Coin from the Royal Australian Mint.

Released to mark the centenary of the First World War Armistice, the coin pays tribute to the three branches of the Australian Defence Force: the Australian Army, Royal Australian Navy and Royal Australian Air Force. Its vibrant reverse design was created by Aleksandra Stokic and draws inspiration from Napier Waller’s spectacular stained-glass artwork in the Hall of Memory at the Australian War Memorial.

This Australian legal-tender $5 coin was struck in a distinctive triangular shape from 22.23 grams of 99.9% pure silver, equivalent to approximately 0.715 troy ounces in total weight and 0.714 troy ounces of pure silver. It measures approximately 33.92mm and features Ian Rank-Broadley’s effigy of Queen Elizabeth II on the obverse.

Land, Sea and Air was the sixth and final release in the Royal Australian Mint’s popular triangular silver proof series. With its military theme, coloured stained-glass design and limited mintage of 10,000 coins, it is a highly desirable addition to Royal Australian Mint, Anzac and Australian military collections.
