Issued by the Royal Australian Mint in 2013, this uncirculated one-dollar coin celebrates the 40th anniversary of the Sydney Opera House, one of Australia’s most recognisable architectural and cultural landmarks.

Officially opened by Queen Elizabeth II on 20 October 1973, the Sydney Opera House became a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2007 in recognition of its outstanding architectural design and cultural significance.

Designed by Aleksandra Stokic, the reverse features a stylised depiction of the Opera House’s iconic vaulted sails alongside the UNESCO emblem and commemorative inscription. The obverse carries the Ian Rank-Broadley effigy of Queen Elizabeth II.

Struck in aluminium bronze and presented on its original Royal Australian Mint collector card, this non-circulating legal-tender release has a limited mintage of only 15,000.

Please refer to the supplied photographs for the condition of the coin and presentation card.
